The work briefly comprises the designing and building of a 50m swimming pool, 25m diving pool, leisure centre complete with wave pool all within a structural frame with reconstituted stone and timber cladding and extensive architectural glazing.

Pool Hall:

The Pool Hall features both a full international 50m (53m inc boom) 10 lane competition pool and an international diving pool. 3,000 spectators are provided for. The 50m pool features both a floating and a moveable boom and two 12.5m x 25m floating floors, one located at either end. This combination allows maximum flexibility, enabling the pool to be divided in numerous combinations.

Leisure Park:

The Leisure Water Park is the premier facility for Ireland. It is primarily a family attraction, with state of the art rides and features to appeal to all ages. The view of these from outside is vital to conveying this image to the visitor. The large glazed element facing the car park, in particular heightens the visitor's sense of anticipation as they approach the centre.

Health Club:

The Health Club is entered directly from the access corridor spine. Changing, treatment and wet facilities are located at ground level, where there also is direct access to the pool. The gym, aerobics and spinning room are located at first floor and are accessed via a feature stair or lift which leads through a dynamic bridge over the glazed link.
