Blessington Retail & Commercial Development

The work involved the construction of a supermarket complex, including a multilevel car park with retail and enterprise units and library.

The building and car park was constructed on a piled foundation. The structure is a mixture of concrete frame, structural steel and load bearing blockwork.

The make up of the site is mainly soft to firm clays overlying medium dense sand sometimes gravel.

The supermarket is approximately 3780m2 and was erected as a steel portal frame 9.5m above FFL. There are six  ground floor retail units between 85m2 and 129m2 and five commercial units over two floors with restaurant on second level. As part of the development 7 enterprise units were constructed. The development included 405 space car park over 4 levels, including ground floor.

Works also involced the development of the road network surrounding the site and foul and storm water drains.
