27th October 2017

The new maternity facility at Royal Victoria Hospital will be delivered through the GRAHAM-BAM Healthcare Partnership.

BAM has been chosen by the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust to construct its new £57m maternity hospital at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Belfast. The project will be delivered through GRAHAM-Bam Healthcare Partnership, a Joint Venture between BAM Ireland and Graham Construction.

Located on the main Royal Victoria Hospital site next to the existing maternity hospital, the new £57m facility will include delivery suites, obstetric theatres and the neonatal intensive care unit all on one floor with easy access between them. There will also be a midwifery-led unit as part of the same facility, with ensuite rooms, each with a birthing pool.

Karen Brookes, Director of Capital Planning & Redevelopment for the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust said “We look forward to working with our partners Graham-BAM to create a high quality modern maternity hospital that will help enable us to deliver quality care, designed to meet the needs of more than 6,000 women who have their babies delivered by the Royal Jubilee Maternity Service each year.
