Ulster Hospital wins coveted Award at 2017 CEF Awards

19th October 2017

Ulster Hospital awarded ‘Overall Winner 2017′ at the Construction Excellence Awards, hosted by the Construction Employers Federation (CEF)

The highlight of the night was the GRAHAM-BAM Healthcare Partnership winning the Overall Award for its work on the £85 million Inpatient Ward Block at the Ulster Hospital. This is an award given to the entry that best exemplifies excellence in construction. The judging panel were particularly impressed with how the project was managed, from the way the subcontractors were procured to the creation of detailed traffic management plans. The judges commented that “BAM-GRAHAM’s approach to the project ensured that the design quality, build quality and continuous consideration of buildability led to the creation of a world-class healthcare facility, while setting the tone and quality threshold for future healthcare projects.”

The Construction Excellence Awards were launched in 1999. Since then, they have become the premier event in the Northern Ireland construction calendar, providing an opportunity to recognise the achievements of the local construction industry and to publicise the substantial contribution that the industry makes to the local economy and society in Northern Ireland.

Theo Cullinane, CEO BAM Ireland said: ‘This is a wonderful achievement and this award recognises and celebrates the dedication, professionalism and hard work demonstrated by the Ulster Hospital construction team.’
