Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline named '2016 Engineering Project of the Year'

BAM project wins out in flagship category at Engineers Ireland Excellence Awards 2016.
BAM Ireland’s work on the Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline has received the top accolade at the Engineers Ireland Annual Excellence Awards. The onshore pipeline, a key part of the €3.5bn Corrib project, constructed on behalf of Shell E&P (Ireland) Ltd, by the BAM/Wayss & Freytag Joint Venture, RPS Group Ltd and Roadbridge Ltd was named ‘Engineering Project of the Year’ for 2016 by a public vote following shortlist selection by a panel of judges.
BAM CEO, Theo Cullinane said ‘We are delighted that the Corrib Pipeline has been recognised by both members of the public and the judges at Engineers Ireland. A project of this size and complexity represents an extraordinary undertaking for all involved and we are extremely proud of the result.’
The Corrib Onshore Gas Pipeline Team are no strangers when it comes to awards. They were awarded the Green Business of the Year and overall Green Business Award at the 2016 Green Awards. International accolades include the International Tunnelling Association’s (ITA) (Switzerland) Award for Tunnelling Through Sensitive Environments and the Pipeline Industry (UK) Project of the Year.
