BAM sponsors School Soccer Kit

BAM recently sponsored the Soccer Kit for St Mary’s College in Dundalk.

The new school, delivered by BAM through a Public Private Partnership will comprise circa 9,030m2 of accommodation over 2 floors and cater for a target population of 900 pupils. This project involves the design, construction, finance, operation and maintenance of the school for a 25 year period. Construction works will be complete by mid April 2016.

The new St Mary’s College facility was built within the grounds of the existing college on a site comprising 5.14ha. The new school has 29 specialist classrooms for subjects including technology, construction studies, art, home economics and design and communication graphics, while there is also guidance and learning support suites. Works include a library, purpose-built science laboratories, a music/drama room with staging area, over 20 general classrooms, computer suites and a physical education hall with changing and fitness suites.

The school campus also includes a general purpose hall as well as catering, staff offices and other ancillary space. External works provide five ball courts, GAA playing and training pitches, covered bicycle racks, landscaping and 65 car parking spaces.

St Mary’s College is part Schools Bundle 4 of the Government’s Public Private Partnership (PPP) Programme. The other 3 schools under the programme are

  • Comeragh College, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary
  • St Joseph’s Secondary School, Tulla Co Clare
  • Skibbereen School, Co Cork

Schools Bundle 4 will provide 3,000 new school places. Students will benefit from the opportunity to learn in new and improved teaching spaces and modern educational facilities built to a very high standard.
