12th May 2014

AN TAOISEACH Enda Kenny TD was in Letterkenny on Monday 12th May, to officially open Colaiste Ailigh and enjoyed a concert by the schools orchestra and choir.

Colaiste Ailigh, was designed and developed by BAM for the Department of Education and Skills and the NDFA, under the PPP Programme in November 2012. The programme involved the design, build and finance of eight schools across Ireland, and maintaining them for a 25 year period. This investment will be repaid by the Department of Education and Skills through annual unitary charges for the duration of the contract period.

Other schools developed as part of this SB3 PPP project are located in Waterford (Tramore), Galway (Doughiska), Leitrim (Ballinamore), Limerick (Doon), Westmeath (Athlone) and Wexford (Gorey). BAM is responsible for maintaining the schools under a 25 year service contract.
