BAM Support the Fight Against Suicide

On Saturday May 10th last, at 4.15am, the team from the Western Region of BAM met on the Galway Salthill Promenade to support the fight against Suicide.
Working in tandem with BAM’s nationwide safety initiative, Beyond Zero, the staff and workers at BAM participated in the Pieta House Darkness Into Light 5km walk, not only to raise funds for this worthy cause but more importantly, to raise awareness amongst the men of the West.
Of the 10 people that die by suicide in Ireland every week, 8 of them are men. Working in an industry that is prominently male, they felt that it was time to take action, time to start minding their men.
Despite the rain, the walk was a major success and the atmosphere was amazing. 17 Galway Hurlers showed their support by walking with the BAM crew.
